Collecting
an author's books is a lot of fun. Some people
would even take time off their jobs
just to attend a book signing event. Eventually
all collector's decide that they would like to
own autographed editions. Clive Cussler is one
of the outstanding authors who is more than happy
to give an appreciative fan an autograph, and
even an inscription. It doesn't matter if he is
signing a book, or a photograph, he always has
time for his fans.

Autographed
books are more valuable than ones that are not
autographed. Unfortunately, dishonest people attempt
to take advantage of new collectors, and make
up signatures of their own. If you are planning
to purchase an autographed book, it is recommended
that you purchase it from a reliable source, however
if you do not know a reliable source, then comparing
any potential purchase's signature with the ones
shown on this page may be helpful to you.
Tact
should be taken when someone offers you a book
with a suspected "bad" signature, as
they may have innocently purchased the book from
the original forger, and sincerely believe that
the signature is legitimate. Don't be fooled by
a tag on the dust jacket that says "Autographed",
as these are easy to obtain, and make a fake seem
to be legitimate.
There is one suspected forgery of Clive Cussler's
signature on this page, and if you can't decide
for yourself, the answer is on the bottom of the
page.
(Don't let this fool you)

Obtaining
a signature from Clive Cussler is so easy, it's
hard to imagine someone forging his signature
on a book, to attempt to increase its value. A
book with a bad signature is worth less than a
book with no signature at all.
